YCP参加者（３月のWPX SSB）から送られてきたメッセージのひとつをご紹介しましょう。

It was the first time for me to participate in a worldwide contest.

I operated from the evening of 25th (JST), and I was the only 50W operator in that time. Thus I had quite a few difficulties while operating, but I was impressed when I succeed to make the first QSO with a station in Asiatic Russia by adjusting the direction of the Yagi antenna. I do have an experience of QSO with stations of HL or DU on 7MHz SSB from my school’s station, but my joy of receiving a RS report as a part of contest was exceptional.

世界規模のコンテストにちゃんと参加したのは今回が初めてでした．

運用したのは日曜の夕方以降で，その時に運用しているオペレーターの中では唯一の3アマでした．50W出力のために呼んでもコールを取ってもらえず，苦労する場面も多かったですが，八木アンテナの向きを調節してAsiatic Russiaの局に初めて取ってもらえた時はやはり感動しました．かつて学校の無線部で7MHz SSBで運用していた時にHLやDUとQSOしたことはありましたが，やはりコンテストということでレポートが返ってきた時の喜びは格別でした．
