この度、一般社団法人 Youngsters on the Air Japan （YOTA Japan）と一般社団法人 日本アマチュア無線連盟（JARL）との連携により、本年10月にタイ・パタヤで開催される「IARU R3 Youngsters on the Air Camp」（YOTA R3 Camp）に日本の若者2名が参加することとなりました。

この度の YOTA R3 Camp は国際アマチュア無線連盟第三地域委員会（IARU R3）の YOTA の取り組みとしても初めてとなるもので、世界的に広がる YOTA の活動に第三地域が本格的に加わる、その第一歩となるものです。

アジア地域の中で先駆けて YOTA の取り組みを行ってきた YOTA Japan は、JARLのご協力により、この記念すべきキャンプに大学生2名（共に18歳）からなる日本チームの参加を実現させました。(※)

    • 高校生の時に免許を取得し2022年に開局

なお、両名の参加にあたり、YOTA Japan は、現地までの交通費の一部を研修補助費として支給しております。YOTA Japan をご支援くださっている賛助会員の方々を始めとする皆様に、改めて御礼申し上げます。

参加の様子・結果は、キャンプ終了後に取りまとめ、皆様にご報告する予定です。

※ 本件は、JARL が IARU R3 のメンバーであることから、JARL が派遣者となり、参加者の推薦とサポートを YOTA Japan が実施しているものです。

We are delighted to announce that two youngsters from Japan will participate in the IARU Region 3 Youngsters on the Air Camp (YOTA R3 Camp) held in Pattaya, Thailand in October this year. Youngsters on the Air Japan (YOTA Japan) and the Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL) are co-operating for their participation.

This YOTA R3 Camp is the first of its kind for the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU) Region 3 Committee, which covers Asia and Oceania. It should be appreciated as the first step of Region 3 toward full-fledged, international YOTA activity, which is spreading rapidly around the world.

YOTA Japan has been a pioneer of YOTA in the Asian region. We are now pleased to announce the participation of a team consisting of two university students from Japan in the first YOTA R3 Camp in the collaboration with JARL.

    • Winner of the High School Amateur Radio Contest in Japan (40m category)
    • “I am very happy to have a good opportunity to learn and interact with many people in IARU Region 3. I will do my best.”
  • JQ3FDO Kazu (age 18)
    • Got his operator licence when he was a high school student and his station licence in 2022.
    • “I have just started amateur radio, but I feel very honoured to have this opportunity for such an international, interactive activity.”

YOTA Japan has decided to subsidise part of their travel expenses to Thailand. We would like to thank our supporting members and all those who have supported us.

We will report back aferr the camp with a summary of the camp’s activities and results of the camp.
